Experience Abraham Lake’s famous frozen bubbles on this uniquely Canadian snowshoeing and heli flight adventure.

Located 25 minutes from the famous Columbia Icefields between Banff and Jasper, this helicopter tour is a unique winter experience. This day out is built around the incredible natural phenomenon on Abraham Lake, where methane gas bubbles from plant life freezes at various depths under the lake surface creating an incredible landscape of frozen bubbles.
All tours include a 20 minute sightseeing flight over glaciers and waterfalls, a 1 hour wilderness snowshoe adventure, complimentary hot chocolate and Irish Cream, a hot lunch back at the base, and a guided bubbles tour at Abraham Lake.

The tour, including time for lunch at the base, is 4 – 4.5 hours with departure times at 10am or 2pm.
The helicopter tour includes a scenic 20 minute helicopter flight with a one hour snowshoe in the wilderness, returning to base for a hot lunch approximately an hour before heading to Abraham Lake to view the bubbles for approximately an hour.
The heliport is located at the Icefield Adventure Base, deep in the mountains on Highway 11 (David Thompson Highway). The heliport is located 25 minutes from the famous Columbia Icefields, 2.5 hours from Jasper and 2 hours and 15 minutes from Banff.
You are required to arrive at the Heliport 30 minutes prior to your scheduled flight time.
All flights include a one hour snowshoe in the wilderness.
This depends on the type of helicopter available, it is either up to 4 or 6 people plus the pilot. Whilst not everyone can sit by a window you will still have fantastic views during your flight. All helicopters have forward facing seats to improve the view from all seats.
Please ensure you have warm clothing, ski and snowboard clothing is perfect for snowshoeing. Guest must come properly outfitted for their tour. Zips, ties and belts on clothing must be secured.
Tours depend on weather conditions and must be confirmed the morning of the flight. In this situation we can reschedule or refund your booking.
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 24 hours outside your booked tour (up to 7 days for group bookings).
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
