Overview

Big or small, there are lots of animals to see in Jasper! Elk, deer, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, foxes, coyotes, wolves, and moose are just a sample of Jasper’s many wild mountain animals.

Plus, you’ll learn all about the ways these animals contribute to the rich diversity of the National Park. The guides are well versed in the history, geology, and ecology of the area and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

As the bus travels through the Athabasca Valley you will be shown some of the park’s most beautiful scenery, so have your camera ready to capture some amazing photos of the highlights of your visit. This tour is the perfect way to spend an afternoon and your best opportunity to see the wildlife of Jasper National Park.

What locations do we NOT pick up from?+
Sunwapta Resort, Wapiti Campground, Wabasso Campground, Whistlers Campground, Athabasca HI Hostel, Maligne Canyon HI Hostel, Miette Mountain Cabins, Overlander Lodge, Jasper East Gate Cabins and any accommodation in Hinton. While we do not pick up from Whistlers Campground, we will pick up across the street at Jasper House Bungalows. Please arrive at Jasper House Bungalows 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

What animals can you see?+
Jasper National Park is home to elk, deer, big horned sheep, mountain goats, foxes, coyotes, wolves, and moose. The guides are trained to seek out all of the park’s most iconic wildlife, but the types of animals seen depends on the season, the time of day, and the weather. Photos are usually taken from the inside the vehicle or on the ground at a safe distance from the animals.

While the natural habitat around Jasper is conducive to animal sightings, animal viewing is not guaranteed and depends largely on the season, the time of day, and the weather.

Outdoor clothing and walking shoes are recommended for this tour.
What is the cancellation policy?+
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change, cancel, or refund your booking up to 24 hours prior to your tour (or up to 7 days prior for group bookings).
Should I tip my guide?+
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
