"Ever since I saw my first frozen waterfall a couple months ago, I have been chasing different ones across the Rockies. Johnston Canyon was on my list for so long now.
After a lot of failed planning, finally made it to Johnston Canyon and did the ICEWALK with @banfftours .
It truly is a 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 hike to do in Banff especially during winters. The view is even more spectacular and the best part is having the entire place all to yourselves.
Here are a couple tips to keep in mind while booking -
1. Do make sure to get a guided tour as the Highway 1A is still currently 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 and only tour buses are allowed through. The other option would be to walk an extra 13km round trip excluding the 5km hike ; which is difficult to do during winters due to temperature fluctuations.
2. Book at-least 𝟳 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 in advance as you can save an extra 10 percent per person when you book a week before. Make sure to book the morning tour as there are no external crowds making it an ideal winter hike."

"We had a wonderful experience with Discover Banff Tours, and our guide Jeff. Picked us up from our hotel, heard some great stories from Jeff on our drive up, and walked through Johnston Canyon under the moon lit sky. Equipment all provided, and kept our headlamps afterwards. Our group didn't want to use lights throughout the walk, which was a great experience and definitely increased other senses."

Marble Canyon is such a great snowshoeing spot! It's incredible how much snow there is, just 30 minutes from Banff. Join us on a small group tour complete with maple syrup taffy made in the snow.
