There's only a few more weeks left to enjoy Banff Avenue's pedestrian zone!
There's a few hints of fall if you look closely around town - anyone else excited for the changing colours of the season?

It's that time of year! The elk rutting season has begun and will last until around mid October. It's an exciting time for seeing wildlife around Banff, but be sure to keep at least 30 metres away from all elk and never get between a male and the females.

Name that waterfall!

Located in Yoho National Park, Takakkaw Falls is the second highest waterfall in Canada. You can walk right up to its base and see it tumbling 254 metres in one stretch and 384 metres in total.

Join us on a full day tour to meet a grizzly bear up close, visit Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls until the end of September.

Larch Valley is one of our favourite summer hikes, but it becomes even more stunning in late September as the larch trees turn an incredible golden yellow.

Come and join us on a small group guided hike, with guaranteed access to the trailhead at popular Moraine Lake.

September is still a beautiful time to visit Moraine Lake! But you better be quick, there's only a month left before the access road closes for the season.

Banff has many hidden treasures to offer. Can you spot what's unique about this picture?

The Bow River is a bright turquoise colour due to the rock flour from the glacier, and the Spray River is a deep blue colour. The two flow into each other but do not mix!
There's simply nothing like seeing iconic glacier-fed lakes like Moraine Lake in person!

"We just finished our half day Lake Louise and Moraine Lake tour. Our guide and driver was Anick. She was awesome. She told us the history of the area, the history of the lakes and glaciers, and little known facts. She also could answer about any question she was asked. The lakes are spectacular. I’ve never seen anything similar. A great half day. And we saw a bear!! Highly recommend."

Visiting Banff in September? There's a special time in late September when the larch trees turn a bright golden yellow and it's truly a spectacular sight to see.

While there's numerous hikes in the area where you can see larch trees, our favourite is Larch Valley. Starting from Moraine Lake, the trail climbs up to Larch Valley where you'll amble through a larch-filled forest before continuing on towards Sentinel Pass and the Minestimma Lakes.

This is a very popular larch hike, especially in the last two weeks of September and we recommend booking early!
