Overview

Experience the Canadian Rockies in a way you’ve never imagined on this ultimate ATV adventure. Travel off-road, down winding trails, and through remote areas for an incredible journey with stunning views of the mountain landscapes.

Getting Started: Rev Up Your Excitement

After some practice time at our base area your guide will lead you up the trail through old-growth forest and open slopes for a spectacular view of Panorama Mountain Resort and the surrounding peaks of the lovely Toby Creek Valley. You’ll start at an elevation of 4,200 feet and there are many opportunities to see wildlife and to stop and take in the fragrance of the forest and the flowers as you travel along the trail.

You’ll visit the remains of an early 1900’s silver mining town at 8,000 feet and marvel at the incredible views of the Rocky and Purcell mountains while enjoying a snack overlooking the amazing alpine bowl full of wildflowers, wildlife and alpine birds. Later, park your ATV and follow your guide along a short pathway to the base of the Marmot Falls where you can watch a clear, pure, snow-fed mountain stream cascade over 100′ down a vertical rock face.

What does the tour include?+
Your tour includes a professional ATV guide, late-model ATV, snack, safety orientation, and a helmet, goggles, light gloves, rubber boots and a rain jacket and pants. ATV damage insurance (which covers up to $500 for incidentals towards any accidental damages to your ATV while you’re on tour) is also included.
Is insurance included?+
ATV damage insurance is included, which provides $500 coverage for minor, accidental damages. Please note that a credit card imprint is required for all tours and will be taken upon arrival.
Where is the meeting point?+
The operations base is located 1km before Panorama Mountain Resort, near Invermere in British Columbia, approximately 2 hours south-west of Banff. Detailed driving directions will be provided in your booking confirmation.
How many people fit on an ATV? Can I upgrade to a side-by-side?+
The regular ATVs fit two people – one driver and one passenger that sits behind the driver. Four-person Side-by-Sides are available as an upgrade option on this tour. Many guests want to experience the thrill of riding on an ATV, however just as many of our guests would prefer to ride in a Side-by-Side and to have a steering wheel rather than handlebars. These vehicles have a side-by-side seating arrangement, seat belts and roll-over protection. The Side-by-Sides also have a steering-wheel with foot operated gas and brake pedals. These features make operation of the vehicle easy and very similar to driving a car. They offer a very comfortable smooth ride with plenty of room to stow backpacks and extra gear. The roof provides shelter from sun or light rain showers. It is also easier to talk with each other between stops when seated side-by-side. This upgrade option is available during the online booking process.
What should I wear/bring?+
Please wear layered backcountry clothing including long sleeves, a jacket, pants, sturdy footwear (hiking boot or runners – rubber boots are provided but your own hiking or walking shoes may be more comfortable), sunglasses, sunscreen, a baseball cap and any personal medications (if required). You can also bring a light backpack with you. A helmet, goggles, light gloves, rubber boots and a rain jacket and pants will be provided. You must also bring a credit card to use for an imprint for damages whether insurance is purchased or not, and don’t forget your camera!
Can I bring a backpack and my camera?+
The ATVs can accommodate small backpacks and camera bags, and straps and bungees can be provided to secure your bag to the carrier. Alternatively you can wear a backpack while riding provided you do not bring a passenger. During the tour you’ll make many stops to take in the view and you are welcome to bring your camera or cellphone and use it to record your ATV trip. If you are a driver, please do not attempt to drive your ATV and use your camera at the same time. Your guide will be more than happy to take group or family photos so please don’t hesitate to ask.
Do I need ATV experience?+
This tour is suitable for all members of the family. No prior experience operating an ATV is needed, in fact most of the guests are first-timers. Everything that you need is supplied (except a camera and a sense of adventure). Please note that the minimum age for passengers is 5 years, and the minimum age for drivers is 18 years of age.
What is the cancellation policy?+
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change, cancel, or refund your booking up to 24 hours prior to your tour (or up to 7 days prior for group bookings).
Should I tip my guide?+
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
