After some practice time at the base area on your 65 HP snowmobile, your guide will lead you up a groomed snowmobile trail through old-growth forest and open slopes for a spectacular view of Panorama Mountain Resort and the surrounding peaks of the lovely Toby Creek Valley.

No experience is required for these tours, and all include breathtaking groomed scenic trails through old growth forest, a spectacular 100′ frozen waterfall, and the opportunity to see wildlife.

How long is the tour?+
Tours departs from Toby Creek Adventures’ operations base near Invermere, British Columbia, about 2 hours from Banff. The full-day tour runs for 3.5-4 hours, and the half-day tour runs for 2.5-3 hours. Please arrive at the base 30 minutes prior to your tour start time.
What does the tour include?+
Your tour includes snacks, experienced and friendly guides, riding instruction, newer model 65 HP snowmobiles, minor collision insurance for up to $500 in incidental damages, and use of warm boots, a DOT certified snowmobile helmet and goggles. The full-day snowmobiling tour also includes a BBQ lunch and free play time in Paradise Basin. Vegetarian and other diet options are available upon prior request. Snowsuit rentals and transport from Banff are available as an optional additions.
Where is the meeting point? Is transport available?+
Transportation is available from Banff for an additional fee for full day trips only (departs from Banff between 6:45am and 7:15am). For guests that are self-driving, please meet at the Toby Creek Adventures’ operations base at 9:00am, which is located at Panorama Mountain Village near Invermere, British Columbia, approximately 2 hours south-west of Banff. Detailed driving directions will be provided in your booking confirmation.
What should I bring?+
You should wear your own warm winter gear (i.e ski wear, ski gloves and hats). Warm boots, a DOT approved snowmobile helmet and goggles are provided at no charge, and snowsuits are available to rent for an additional fee if needed. A major credit card is required as a security deposit.
Do I need snowmobiling experience?+
Most of the guests are first-timers so you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing and instruction on how to ride your snowmobile safely.
Is it hard?+
Not at all, there are no gears to change, just a simple gas and brake, and there are even heated handlebars for your comfort!
Can I upgrade my machine?+
All bookings include a 65 HP snowmobile that can seat two people. Guests can upgrade to a high performance snowmobile for an additional cost which can be selected during the booking process.
What is the cancellation policy?+
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change, cancel, or refund your booking up to 24 hours prior to your tour (or up to 7 days prior for group bookings).
Should I tip my guide?+
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.

Booking Terms

  • Minimum age for a driver: 16 years.
  • Minimum age for a passenger: 5 years.
  • A standard release of liability is required for all participants. A parent or guardian must complete a liability release for persons under 19 years of age.
  • A credit card is required on the day for the security deposit.
  • Photo ID may be required for identity verification.
  • A minimum of four drivers is required to confirm transport from Banff. Transport is only available for full day trips.
