The tour departs from the Heli-Plex at 8:30am and finishes at the Heli-Plex at 3:30pm for apres-ski in the lounge, approximately 7 hours in total. For those taking transportation, the tour begins with pickup in Banff around 6am, and guests will return to Banff around 6:30pm.
The tours include breakfast, a mountainside lunch, use of powder skis/poles and snowboards, certified guides, avalanche receiver and pack with probe/shovel/radio, safety briefing, and three or five runs.
For guests that wish to self-drive, please meet at the Heli-Base located adjacent to Panorama Mountain Resort in Panorama, British Columbia, at 8am to check in and sign waivers. Please allow two hours to drive to the Heli-Base from Banff.
Return shuttle bus transportation is available for $130 per person from Banff, which can be added during the booking process. Transport may also be available from Lake Louise, please enquire when booking. Please note that a minimum of two guests is required for all transport options.
Clothing should be layered for sub-zero temperatures, including goggles, a hat and ski gloves. For sunny days, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended. Please also bring your boots.
The three run package is designed for intermediate skiers or first-timers to heli-skiing, you can always purchase more runs on the day if needed! The five run package is more for advanced or return heli-skiers.
The runs vary, but average about 800 vertical metres. The length of time also varies from around 45 minutes to an hour depending on the terrain, snow condition and group’s ability level.
You are welcome to bring a camera, as long as it can be carried in your pocket or guest pack and is within weight restrictions. You cannot bring your own backpack, but you will be provided with a small backpack containing top of the line rescue equipment.
All bookings are non-refundable, including transportation.
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.

  • Heli-skiing is only available for Intermediate to Expert skiers.
  • Skiers/boarders must be able to handle all kinds of snow conditions and maintain control, and also be of a reasonable fitness level.
  • The minimum age is 14 years and in all cases an adult/guardian must accompany the minor during every run.
  • Please note that a minimum of 2 passengers is required for transportation from Banff to the Heli-plex in Panorama.
