The Banff Upper Hot Springs—a historic spa and bath house with modern amenities against a backdrop of Banff National Park’s spectacular alpine views.
Soak in the historic Banff Hot Springs
The Banff Upper Hot Springs is one of Banff’s most famous attractions; discovered in 1884, the hot springs were included in Banff National Park, the first National Park in Canada. Relax in the soothing, natural hot springs where travelers have come to “take the waters” for more than a century.
Each Banff hot spring is heated geothermally with water arriving in the pools from three kilometres (1.8 miles) underground. In the winter the temperature can reach up to 47°C (116°F) and 27°C (81°F) in spring. It’s the perfect place to ease your sore muscles after skiing, snowboarding, hiking and other outdoor activities.
The Banff Upper Hot Springs is available daily from 10am-10pm, including most holidays, with last entry at 9:30pm. The facility includes accessible parking spots and entrances and aquatic wheelchairs are available on request. The staff is happy to accommodate visitors to the best of their ability and the limitations of their historic building.
