Situated in British Columbia’s Purcell Mountains with views to the Rocky Mountains, Panorama Mountain Resort is perfect for many skiers with 75% of the runs suitable for beginners or intermediates – perfect for families or groups with a variety of experience and ability levels. Think wide open groomers, winding down the fall-line from the summit right to the village base area.

For the more adventurous, Taynton Bowl is a former heli-skiing area that is now within bounds, so the slopes are patrolled, avalanche controlled and no backcountry gear is needed. Be sure to warm up first as the 750 acre bowl is all black runs!

The Ski Shuttle operates on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and you’ll arrive right as the gondola opens so you can squeeze in as many runs as you like. Make the most of your winter on this day skiing trip from Banff with three departures every week.

How long is the tour?

The planned duration of the tour is approximately 12 hours from Banff including hotel pick up and drop off (pickup time ranges from 6:40am to 7:20am in Banff depending on your pickup location). We depart from Panorama Mountain Resort at 4pm and return to Banff around 6:30pm. Please note that while we try our best to adhere to this time schedule however this can sometimes vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather/road conditions.

What does the tour include?

The tour includes return transportation to Panorama Mountain Resort from Banff and your lift ticket for the day. It does not include equipment, lessons or lunch.

Where is our pick up and drop off from?

This tour picks up from several hotels in Banff. Please select your preferred pickup location during the booking process.

What if I already have a lift ticket or pass?

If you only require transportation, our reservations team can assist you with this offline. Please contact us for full details.

How much time will we have to ski?

We plan to arrive at Panorama Mountain Resort by 9.30am just after the gondola opens. This can vary slightly due to weather and road conditions but allows for around 6 hours of skiing before we depart at 4pm. Please note that Panorama Mountain Resort is located in Panorama, British Columbia, approximately a 2 hour drive and 175 kilometers south-west of Banff.

Is there a later departure?

The shuttle is designed to maximize time on the hill so we start early to get you there as the gondola opens and leave just as it stops. There are no half day options available.

Is equipment provided?

Ski/snowboard equipment is not provided and guests are to bring their own. If you do not have your own gear we would suggest hiring in town the day before, or alternatively there is a rental shop at Panorama Mountain Resort.

What should I wear?

Please wear ski wear, including a ski suit, hat and mitts or gloves.

Are the runs okay for beginners?

The ski area is perfect for many skiers as 75% of the runs are suitable for beginners or intermediates. For black-diamond runs, head to Taynton Bowl. Formerly a heli-skiiing area, Taynton Bowl is now within bounds, so the slopes are patrolled, avalanche controlled and no backcountry gear is needed.

Does it include a ski lesson?

This is not a ski lesson package. If you are looking for a lesson please speak to us in store about local options and we can find the right deal for you. This tour allows guests a full day to themselves to explore and ski/ride the runs they want to do.

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 48 hours outside your booked tour (up to 7 days for group bookings).

Should I tip my guide?

Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
