Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise provide some of the world’s best climbing areas, and are a great opportunity to discover this exhilarating sport.

The Canadian Rockies surrounding Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise are a rock climber’s paradise with climbs and areas suitable for every level of climber. Try this unbelievably exhilarating sport where you will learn basic safety and top rope techniques for climbing outdoors in addition to being coached on basic rock climbing movement skills.

People of all ages and physical capabilities can try this fun sport and lessons cater to all abilities, so there is no need to worry if you are a first time climber. All climbing guides are trained and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG).

This fun and relaxed day on the rock is designed for beginners and those who have never climbed before. Full-day or half-day lessons are available for individuals or groups in the Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise areas by request.

This fun and relaxed day on the rock is designed for beginners and those who have never climbed before, and can be booked for individuals, families or groups.

There are half day and full day experiential rock climbing programs available, which each commence at 8:30am (1pm half day programs may also be available). Please contact us for further information.
Tours include instruction, use of equipment (harness and helmet), and rock shoes where available.
Banff Rundle Rock is located next to the Banff Springs Golf Course and is a great spot for first time rock climbers that is suitable for full and half day climbing. There are other locations in and around Canmore and Lake Louise, please enquire as transportation is generally not available.
Guests should bring lunch, snacks and plenty to drink, daypack (large enough for spare clothing, your lunch and personal and group climbing gear), socks to wear with climbing shoes, cotton or nylon stretch pants (long), comfortable shirt or t-shirt, a pile jacket or sweater, a waterproof rain jacket with hood, sunscreen and sunglasses, running shoes or light hiking boots, rain jacket/hat, a water bottle and remember your camera!
This fun and relaxed day on the rock is designed for beginners and those who have never climbed before.
The experiential rock climbing programs can be booked for individuals, couples, families and groups. Please note that the price varies depending on the number of people in your group. The maximum instructor to client ratio for instruction is 1:6.
There is a 48 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 48 hours outside your booked tour (up to 7 days for group bookings).
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
