First Grizzly Bear

I have been living in Banff for 8 months and had not yet seen any bears as they had all been hibernating over the winter. Once summer had started I decided to go on The Glacier Trail tour with Discover Banff Tours as I had heard that many bear sightings had been made on this tour. My mum was visiting from Australia at the time and she also wanted to see a bear whilst here, making it the highlight of her holiday in Canada. 

We set off on the Glacier Trail Tour trying hard not to get our hopes up just in case we did not see one. A few hours after we left Banff we stopped for a quick lunch and were back on the bus ready to head to the Colombia Icefields, when all of a sudden our guide Jeff slammed on the brakes and yelled look out to the right pointing in the direction of a BIG grizzly bear. I think the bus almost tipped over because everyone on the bus jumped to the right hand side trying to get a good look at this grizzly outside the window. It was such an amazing thing to see in the wild and it definitely made our day the best one so far!
