Detailer and Maintenance Person

Why This Job is Cool

The detailer position has been a coveted job by many who live in the Bow Valley as it allows skiers, snowboarders, hikers and general mountain enthusiasts much of their day time hours off to enjoy and play in the Rockies.

Detailers work from 2pm until the later evening once all busses are ready for the next day. Full time detailers work 4-5 days a week and part time detailers work 2-3 days a week. Detailers to be able to work independently, do physically demanding work, be comfortable in taking on additional responsibilities and have experience driving larger vehicles.  We need you to have a fix it attitude, and an eye to notice and repair things that need attention.   You'll work directly with the general manager and administrative assistant to ensure our offices and vehicles are clean and in ship shape and assist the company with its main purpose To create fantastic memorable experiences for visitors to the Rockies.

Term

We offer full time seasonal work.  There is a short time during the fall (Mid October - End November) and spring (Mid April - Mid May) where detailing may not be required due to business levels so its the perfect time to plan a holiday to somewhere hot, like Moab!

Essential Requirements

  • Class Four Alberta Drivers License (preferred)
  • Enthusiasm and Positive Attitude
  • Min. 23 years of age (insurance requirement)
  • Attend seasonal training program (4-5 days)

In General

The image of Discover Banff Tours begins for many by seeing one of our brightly coloured blue 24 passenger buses roll through the town of Banff. On tour, guests learn quickly the names of our buses and how these names are connected to the heritage of Banff National Park. Our fleet of vehicles is an integral part of the running of our operations and so it is important that we find the right individuals to help keep our busses clean and shiny. Though looking after the cleanliness of our vehicles is a core component to the detailers position there is variety in the position in helping keeping other aspects to our business running smooth. More detail on this is below.

A Little More About Detailing At DBT

  1. Daily Tasks
    • Check daily for vehicles to be detailed
    • Follow detailing checklist for busses/vans/office
    • Follow cleaning schedule for offices
    • Complete minor repairs and tasks
    • General tidying of service bays. buildings and parking lots
  2. Monthly or Seasonal Tasks
    • Deep cleaning of vehicles
    • Deep cleaning of offices and service bays
  3. Team Work
    • Keep up to date by reading emails, calendar and memos
    • Expect shift changes, be available outside the schedule
    • Arrive at work early ready to go
    • Takes direction from supervisors and office staff
  4. Safety and Security
    • Drive vehicles safely
    • Think "safety" first when multi-tasking
    • Ask for help or instruction
  5. Other Duties and Responsibilities
    • General Maintenance of vehicles and buildings
    • Driving or shuttling vehicles when necessary
  6. Working Environment and Interactions
    • Operate 24 passenger mini-buses in a safe, legal and comfortable manner
    • Cold and wet work while detailing vehicles
    • Work can be physically demanding
    • Reports to adminstration assistant who is responsible for fleet maintenance
