Blue Canoe Dock Staff

You'll be working outdoors in one of the most scenic places on the planet! There's lots of opportunity for guest interaction and ensuring they have a great time in the mountains, and also the sense of responsibility that comes with ensuring that guests have a fun and safe experience on the water.

Blue Canoe offers full time & part time seasonal work from mid-May to mid-October.

Season start up: mid Day - mid October

Pay scale
Start at $10.00 per hour

Essential Requirements

• Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Be able to cope with multi tasking under pressure
• Be physically fit to move/lift canoes and enjoy working outside
• Highly customer-oriented with strong communication skills
• Can do' attitude with a hard working and enthusiastic personality
• Able to work both in a team and unsupervised
   

Daily Tasks

• Unsupervised opening and closing of the canoe docks, including cash out, canoe shack preparation, canoe & kayak preparation
• Renting canoes/kayaks & selling merchandise: operating the till and cash handling, using Point Of Sale software on a PC, helping customers fill in waivers
• Maintenance of canoes & equipment
• Helping customers prepare for canoeing: explain how to wear and use PFD, explaining the basic strokes and principles of canoeing, assisting customers getting in and out of the canoes
• Managing large groups of people in a small area: rescues & First Aid, coping with various types of on-water rescues, coping with minor injuries, understanding the hazards of canoeing/kayaking on the river
