Term

Blue Canoe offers full time & part time seasonal work from mid-May to mid-October.
Essential Requirements

    * Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
    * Be able to cope with multi tasking under pressure
    * Be physically fit to move/lift canoes and enjoy working outside
    * Highly customer-oriented with strong communication skills
    * 'Can do' attitude with a hard working and enthusiastic personality
    * Able to work both in a team and unsupervised

A Sample of Daily Tasks

    * Unsupervised opening and closing of the canoe docks, including cash out, canoe shack preparation, canoe & kayak preparation
    * Renting canoes/kayaks & selling merchandise: operating the till and cash handling, using Point Of Sale software on a PC, helping customers fill in waivers
    * Maintenance of canoes & equipment
    * Helping customers prepare for canoeing: explain how to wear and use PFD, explaining the basic strokes and principles of canoeing, assisting customers getting in and out of the canoes
    * Managing large groups of people in a small area: rescues & First Aid, coping with various types of on-water rescues, coping with minor injuries, understanding the hazards of canoeing/kayaking on the river
