Small Personalized Tours

Discover Banff Tours began with a great idea and humble beginnings. Jonathan Welsh, the owner and ex-ski instructor, noticed there was a niche to provide winter sightseeing tours and activities in Banff National Park for international ski holiday makers. Since the winter of 1999/2000 DBT has provided Small Personalized Tours for guests offering unparalleled service in the Bow Valley. Beginning with one daily scheduled tour, a mobile reservations department (literally, it was a cell phone), one leased bus and a couple of enthusiastic local guides DBT quickly built a reputation for service excellence.

Today the company offers 7 daily scheduled tours in the summer and 5 in the winter. Reservations agents staff an activity centre in downtown Banff where they take bookings for DBT and other activities in the area. Discover Banff operates a small fleet of 24 passenger buses that are 4 years old or newer. Our guides are second to none, have a passion for the mountains they live in, and are keen to share their knowledge and personal experiences with guests.

Discover Banff includes hotel pick up and drop off for all its tours. Guests have the use of binoculars and each tour or activity includes a refreshment and our world famous maple cookies for a snack. Each guide has props and interpretive tools to pass around on tour to give guests a more hands on, and interactive experience. Bus interiors are decorated with various mountain themes and are easily identifiable as all are Painted Discover Banff Blue.
